As reported by metro.co.uk, a fee has been agreed to sign FC Basel’s defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny by Arsenal.
Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla injury were always going to spur Arsene Wenger to recruit in January transfer window, as the club want to maintain their present form and momentum.
According to Swiss outlet Aargauer Zeitung, Arsenal have been able to identify a good cover for the injured Midfielders in Mohamed Elneny as a fee believed to be £10m has been agreed with Fc Basel.
Elneny, an Egyptian international, has lifted three league trophies during his time in Switzerland, and has been a real influence in Fc Basel’s Europa League campaign so far this season.

While the African man is probably not the defensive midfielder Arsenal fans expected, the fact he was purchased at a considerably low price compared to other targets in that position by Arsenal could make him look a bargain signing if he eventually turn out to be a good player after joining Arsenal.
